The first look and teasers revealed that the film is an intense love story with the right dosage of reality. The film has managed to create a great pre-release buzz in the industry. Prominent directors Cheran, Gautham Menon, Bhagyaraj, Vivekha, Prabhu Solomon and Ezhil congratulated the team for their wonderful effort. Ace director Bhagyaraj praised debutant director Thangasami for his racy screenplay, freshness in script and perfect casting. The film has debutants Lagubaran and Swathi in lead roles. Also in the star cast are Ajaiathith, Umasree, Revathi, Raja, Dharun, Kanagasapapathi and Elizabeth. The technical team comprises of Manuramesan (music), P. Rajsundar (camera), Manikarthik (art) and Gopikrishna (editing). Here we take a look at the review... When Jayam (Lagubaran), brother of a local politician, goes on a mission to fix his friend's love life, he accidentally meets Dhanam (Swathy), higher secondary student, and obviously it's love at first sight for me. After few initial hiccups, Dhanam reciprocates his love and at this point it is revealed that her father (Suman) is a top official in Tuticorin Port while her uncle is the leading criminal lawyer. Jayam and Dhanam decides to go on an outing and to their dismay police arrests them. But things turns right suddenly and the Inspector warns them and leaves her but the news goes to Dhanam's uncle. What happens next is the crust of Raattinam and be ready to view the harsh reality of life in the climax. Tuticorin is as beautiful as ever, cinematographer Raj Sundar has rightly captured the beachy locations in its right tone. Kudos to debutant directir Thangasamy for writing a realistic script and underplaying it. There are no rugged bite-the-tongue and scream kind of villians in Raattinam, it is the situation that turns the game upside down here. There are shades of Balaji Shakthivel's Kadhal and Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (only in the climax). At the end it is the love story that wins away all the accolades. However the director should tweak the film (especially in the second half) to increase the pace. Music by Manurameshan is impressive. Coming to the star cast, both Lagubaran and Swathy has done a very neat jobs. Their characters are fresh and the on screen chemistry is pretty awesome. However they will have to improve their facial expressions and body language especially in the emotional scenes. The rest of the star cast including Suman, Thangasamy (as Jayam's brother) and Elizabeth fits the bill perfectly. Raattinam, a giant wheel which has romance, sentiment, friendship and a harsh dosage of reality.

What is it about? The film narrates the story of two brothers and their quest to save their ancestral café in Kumbakonam. Cheenu (Vimal) manages the cafe single-handedly despite the heavy debts. Fate throws more bad luck at him in the form of Madhavi (Anjali), health inspector who gives him two month notice time to improve the quality of the café. And obviously Cheenu falls in love with Madhavi. Enter Raghu (Shiva), a small time thief, Cheenu’s younger brother, who arrives after a short stint in jail. Raghu joins his brother to manage the cafe and conceptualizes innovative ways to make the cafe profitable. Raghu falls in love with the chef’s daughter Shalini (Oyiya). Then we have Vettupuli (Santhanam), local dhadha and Madhavi’s fiancée. Meanwhile a rogue police inspector cheats Raghu and takes over the cafe while Cheenu is away to Madhavi’s village. So what will the brothers do to get back their café? Watch out in Kalakalappu, only on screens! Perfomance & Techniques Kalakalappu @ Masala Café is a typical Sundar C. entertainer with all the elements required in a commercial flick. But at many point it looks like the director has wrote the script just for the sake of making a film. At many point the direction in which the story travels is very unclear and confusing while the comedy one-liners mostly ends up as flaws. Coming back to the star cast Shiva excels with his witty one-liners and is a big relief factor in the film. Vimal has done his part well but at times he appears very vague. Oviya overacts while Anjali is perfect for the role. However it looks like glamour is not the cup of tea for the Angadi Theru actress. Santhaanam is as usual impressive while Ilavarasu and Subbu has also done a decent job. Vijay Ebenezer’s music is apt for the film however a couple of songs could have been trimmed to increase the pace of the film. U.K Senthil’s camera work is good. On the whole Kalakalappu @ Masala Café is a wholse some entertainer with its own ups and down.

Balaji Sakthivel is noted not only for his realistic style of film making, but also for his observation skills and ability to transform these observations into a neat celluloid version that attracts viewers. Surprisingly, Vazhakku Enn 18/9 is an out-and-out love story. The film deals with how the concept of love has changed today, beginning with the so-called 'boyfriend-girlfriend' culture. The film is produced jointly by Thirupathi Brothers and UTV Motions Pictures; and has newcomers Sri, Mithu Murali and Urmila Mahanta in the lead roles. Knowing what Balaji Sakthivel is capable of, we eagerly anticipate this film! What is it about? Looks like director Balaji Sakthivel has taken inspiration from many news articles to create a solid plot for Vazhakku Enn 18/9. The films opens with an ambulance rushing towards a hospital.... the victim is in serious condition and her mother suspects Velu. From there the police investigation begins... Flashback... Due to circumstances Velu (Sri) is forced to work in a chips (and snacks) making factory in the rural areas of North India. When his parents die in an accident, the owner of the factory hides it from Velu and when he overhears this, he decides to leave his job forever. Obviously Velu lands in Chennai and ends up working in a roadside fast food. One day Velu ends up in a small conflict with the innocent Jothi (Urmila Mahanta) and her rude mother. So who is Jothi... A simple teenage girl hailing from a poor class family. She works as a maid in a nearby posh flats. In the same flat, Dinesh (Mithun Murali), son of a rich industrialist, sets his eyes on Aarthi (Manisha Yadav) and interestingly Jothi works in Aarthi's house. On a fine day someone throws acid on Jothi's face while she is in Arthi's house... So who is behind it, and wat is Dinesh's role in this? Watch out in Vazhakku Enn 18/9! Performance and Techniques It is the script which triumphs over everything and the real hero is the screenplay. Director Balaji Sakthivel has once again proved that it is not necessary to have big star's dates to make a good film. The director has used the first half to narrate the background information of all the characters and the story progresses in the second half. Unlike the regular perception that Vazhakku Enn... is an intense rural drama, the film is an intense love story which is pure and simple. Balaji Sakthivel's screenplay is well supported by S. D. Vijay Milton's camera works. He has used a Canon EOS 7D digital camera for the filming of this flick. Another major highlight of the flick is the soundtrack composed by noted guitarist R. Prasanna. Gopi Krishna's editing could have been better. On the flip side, the second half could have been tweaked a bit to increase the pace of the film. Awards are for sure, but now it would be interesting to see how audience welcome it! Perfect casting! Sri, who played the lead role in TV serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal, has done an excellent job as Velu. Malayalam child star Mithun Murali is equally good but his dubbing could have been better. Urmila Mahanta is innocent and naive; Manisha Yadav is perfect for the role. The rest of the star cast Muthuraman, Chinnasamy, Senthil, Rani, Rithika, Goutham, Vidhya Eeshwar and Anjali have done their roles very well. A very well made realistic drama! Kudos to Balaji Sakthivel and team!

Interestingly the film is the dubbed version of Tollywood flick Oh My Friend. The film also has Navdeep and Hansika in lead roles. The Tamil version is released by Satish under his own banner Satish Film Corporation. According to sources, Oh My Friend is the real life story of the director’s student days. It has music by Rahul Raj. Vijay K. Chakravarthi is the cinematographer. THE PLOT The story of Sridhar is nothing new to Kollywood but it is the treatment that makes the difference. The film has strong traces of Piriyadha Varam Vendum, which had Prashanth and Shalini in lead roles. Can't a boy and girl be good friends forever? This is the basic crux of Sridhar. As you have guessed rightly the film revolves around friendship between Siddharth and Shruti, since their childhood. The former wants to become a musician in life while the latter is a dotting daughter. At point this point both falls in love with different persons i.e. Siddharth-Hansika and Shruti-Navdeep. And then the friction begins... Navdeep and Hansika feels insecure and jealous of their friendship. So how will they solve the issue and what happens next forms the rest of the story. THE PERFORMANCE After a long time it is good to see a subtle romantic film, without any over-the-top dialogues and violence, in Kollywood. Siddharth, Shruti Haasan and Navdeep have done justice to their role however Hansika doesn't have much to perform. Music by Rahul Raj needs a special mention as it uplifts the entire film. Venu Sriram's tight screenplay and Vijay K. Chakravarthi's cameraworks are equally good. Producer Sathish effort to dub this flick to Tamil needs to be appreciated as Sridhar is a perfect subject for Kollywood fans.

Sri Ramarajyam

The names of Bapu, Ramana, Balakrishna, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Ilayaraja are sufficient to arouse interest in a film. The talented team has come up with the mythological film Sri Rama Rajyam. Let us see how the final output has come out. Story: The director has done a good job by starting the film with the arrival of Rama and Sita to Ayodhya after vanquishing Ravan in Lanka. Rama is now the king of Ayodhya. Under his rule the people are happy and prosperous. Just when everything seems to be going fine, a comment by a washer man makes Rama to send Sita away into the forest. From here the real story of Sri Rama Rajyam begins. Sita is given shelter by Sage Valmiki. He keeps her identity a secret and looks after her as his own daughter. Sita gives birth to Lava and Kusha. Valmiki imparts knowledge to them and also teaches them how to use weapons (Artha Sastra). They also study Ramayana and Valmiki asks them to preach the story across the length and breadth of Ayodhya. At this juncture, Rama plans to conduct Ashwamedha Yagnam for the welfare of the people. What happens next should be seen on-screen. Sri Ramarajyam movie is based on Uttara Ramayanam, i.e., Lava Kusa. In which, Bala Krishna is going play lord Rama in a film and Nayantara will portray the role of Sitadevi. While dialogues are being written by Mullapudi Venkata Ramana, Kamal Kannan, who won national award for his remarkable work in ‘Magadheera’, is going to handle visual effects, PRK Raju is the cinematographer, art director Ravindra will design the sets, editing will be done by GG Krishna Rao and the music is being scored by Ilayaraja. This is the 2nd film in Bapu and Ilayaraja combination, after the super duper hit film ‘Mantrigaari Viyyankudu’.

Udhayanidhi Stalin has already carved a niche for himself as a producer of quality films. But OKOK was significant for him since he has taken the avatar of an actor!

The right script at the right time with the right director, no doubt a conscious decision on Udhayanidhi’s part to team up with proven humour specialist Rajesh and in the company of Santhanam, leads to a great introduction for the debut actor.

There’s no big story in OKOK, but what makes the film tick? It’s smart packaging with Rajesh’s typical signature comedy - loads of witty one-liners, comical punches by Santhanam, fresh pair Udhay and ravishing Hansika and Harris Jayaraj in the scheme of things, the movie lives up to all the pre-release hype.

The story begins with Saravanan (Udhayanidhi) receiving his girl friend Meera’s (Hansika’s) wedding card. In order to stop the marriage, he sets out to Pondicherry along with his close buddy Parthasarathy aka Partha (Santhanam) in a janavasa car.

As they embark on the journey, a flashback opens up. Saravanan, a happy-go-lucky youth, and Partha work for a multiplex in the city.

Saravanan meets Meera at a traffic signal and falls for her charm instantly. He follows her and finds out that she is an aspiring airhostess and her dad is a deputy commissioner of police (Sayaji Shinde).

After Meera rejects Saravanan’s proposal begin the comical episodes of Saravanan, in the company of Partha, trying to impress Meera. Whether he succeeds in his endeavours or not is to be viewed on screen.

Considering it his debut, Udhay has done a convincing job. He is at ease in front of the camera and shows a lot of promise. But he needs to hone his dancing skills.

Kudos to him (being the producer as well) for allowing equal screen space to Santhanam. Udhay and Santhanam’s onscreen chemistry literally rocks!

Santhanam, of late in full form, hogs the limelight and sweeps you off your feet with his brilliant comic one-liners. Hansika looks captivating and has got a meaty role.

She is at her glamorous best in songs and gets the right emotions in the comic scenes. With a perfect lip-sync, she is a treat to watch.

Not to forget Saranya’s terrific performance as Udhay’s adorable mother who struggles to complete her graduation for 20 years. And then there’s Azhagam Perumal, Uma Padmanabhan and Sayaji who are ok in their roles.

You can see Arya, Sneha and Andrea in cameos, thanks to Rajesh’s clout.

There’s never a dull moment in the entire proceedings, though logic slips at several places. Harris’ music reminds one of his previous hit numbers with Kadhal Oru and Azhage being the highlights.

Balasubramaniam’s cinematography goes well with the mood of the film. The movie is a bit too lengthy. Nevertheless, it is clean summer fare worth a watch!

Leelai,Leelai online movie,Leelai tamil movie,Leelai movie In Malar's (Manasi Parekh) eyes, Karthik (Shiv Pandit) doesn't come across as a good guy, because of his flirting ways in college. Incidentally, the two get to work in the same office, a few years later. Karthik falls in love with Malar, but he introduces himself to Malar as Sundar, considering that she hates Karthik. Debut director Andrew has served a very unique romance, which is a rarity in Tamil cinema. The movie just passes on like a morning breeze. Both hero and heroine are not Tamilians, yet they have managed to fit into the role of a typical IT professional in Chennai. Shiv has registered himself as an actor in the industry with his subtle expressions and wonderful dialogue delivery. Manasi has delivered a commendable performance, especially her expressions when she comes to know that Karthik and Sundar are the same. Her acting is outstanding. The best thing in this movie is the comedy. Yes, the director has managed to produce many hilarious moments, though the movie primarily focuses on love and pain. Though Santhanam has been good as ever, his track seems a little disjointed. The film looks out to be visually fresh, though it remained in the cans for quite some times. Cinematographer Velraj, who is very famous for his work in Polladhavan and Aadukalam, has treated every frame with care. Sathish Chakaravarthy has justified his place in the industry in his debut movie, as the songs are quite appealing. The Oru Kili number is absolutely lilting, and we are sure that this talented composer will go places. Though the numbers are good, the placement of the songs made the movie drag a little bit. The movie slightly gets off track towards the end, especially when the director tries to untie all the knots he made in the first half. Andrew has taken up a complicated screenplay for his first movie, and he certainly has done a very commendable job. There are a few logical flaws here and there, but they dont linger in the mind too much. The verdict: Breezy entertainer with a lot of light moments.
